The Republic of Uzbekistan, with its capital in Tashkent, is a former Central Asian Soviet republic with close ties to Russia and EAEU member states. The largest trading partners of the Uzbek state are Russia, China, and Kazakhstan.
The Republic of Uzbekistan borders Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. The country has numerous natural resources, such as oil, gas, uranium, gold, silver, and coal.
The new developments promise extensive economic growth and thus attract foreign investments in large quantities to the Central Asian republic.
Currently, Uzbekistan is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, therefore there is no obligation to carry out EAC certification for exports to Uzbekistan. The EAC certification in Uzbekistan has a good reputation as an additional quality proof.
The Republic of Uzbekistan has its own GOST-UZ certification system, which is structured similarly to the old Soviet GOST approval system.
Thus, the approval of imported goods must be carried out in accordance with the regulations of the GOST-UZ certification system. Similar to EAC approval, a distinction is made between GOST-UZ certification and GOST-UZ declaration.
The regulations of the GOST-UZ certification system specify which product groups are subject to GOST certification and which are subject to GOST declaration.
For GOST-UZ certification and GOST-UZ declaration, different documents and materials are required depending on safety requirements.
Typically, the following documents are required for GOST-UZ approval:
Additional documents may also be required for export to Uzbekistan. In the certification process, we will gladly check the necessity for the creation of technical operating documents for your products.
For the export of products to Uzbekistan, state regulations on safety and compliance must be observed and adhered to. The Uzbek OZST certification serves as proof of compliance with state regulations.
An OZST certificate is a state confirmation of compliance with Uzbek regulations regarding the safety and conformity of goods. OZST certificates are checked by Uzbek customs upon import and also later during commissioning and/or marketing by the competent authorities.
In addition to the mandatory OZST certification, the OZST certification system also allows for voluntary OZST certification.
A voluntary OZST certification serves as an additional quality proof; many Uzbek companies prefer voluntarily OZST certified products.
An OZST certificate can be issued for a partial delivery or for serial production. The validity period for serial production is: 1 to 3 full years. The OZST certification is considered a state approval document and is issued on special paper with a watermark and hologram.
Typically, the following documents are required for GOST-UZ approval:
The OZST certification is significantly easier if the product has an ISO certificate, a CE certificate, or an EAC certificate, as substantial tests and technical documentation were completed during the previous certifications; these tests and documents can also be used for OZST certification.
Goods imported into Uzbekistan must be checked for compliance with the safety requirements of the GOST-UZ certification system.
The Republic of Uzbekistan is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU states). Thus, EAC approvals in Uzbekistan are not mandatory but are regarded as an additional quality proof.
Uzbekistan has its own certification system: GOST-UZ certification. Compliance with technical regulations and standards is monitored by Uzbek authorities, such as UZSTANDARD - Agency for Metrology, Standardization, and Certification.
The GOST-UZ certification is carried out by accredited certification service providers and confirmed by Uzbek authorities. The issued GOST-UZ certification is valid for 1 to 3 years only in Uzbekistan. Mandatory GOST-UZ certification is only required for goods listed in the customs regulations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The list was established by the decree of the Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan NR 122 dated April 28, 2011, and is regularly updated. The GOST-UZ certification is conducted in accordance with the regulations of UZSTANDARD.
The experts of AC Inorms Group LLC are happy to advise you on GOST-UZ approval for your products in Uzbekistan. We certify and register all groups of goods in Uzbekistan in accordance with current technical regulations and standards. We guarantee a smooth export of your products to Uzbekistan.
The validity period of GOST-UZ certificates can vary from 1 to 3 years depending on the need; for one-time deliveries, the certification is contract-based.
The contract-based approval is a one-time certificate issued based on a contract between a company registered in Uzbekistan and foreign contractual partners.
Thus, the contractual document serves as an authentication document for carrying out one-time GOST-UZ certifications for the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A GOST UZ approval applies to the quantity of products specified in the shipping documents and contractual documents. The GOST-UZ certification of a product is only possible if the product has arrived in Uzbekistan and has been confirmed by customs.
GOST-UZ certificates represent an item authentication for an unspecified quantity of products. Therefore, an indefinite contractual document is required by the customs authorities.
The legal regulations NR 1006-XII on the certification and standardization of products and services were enacted on December 28, 1993.
