8.7. The declaration of conformity may be adopted for specific types of furniture products or for a group of homogeneous products for which uniform safety requirements subject to conformity confirmation have been established;
8.8. The declaration of conformity is adopted for a period established by the applicant (manufacturer, seller, person authorised by the manufacturer, importer), based on the planned period for placing serial products on the market, the batch volume, the validity period of the evidentiary documents on the basis of which the declaration was adopted, and the selected declaration of conformity scheme, but for no more than five years;
8.9. The applicant shall retain the declaration of conformity and the evidentiary materials for ten years from the date on which the validity period of the declaration of conformity expires.
The set of documents confirming conformity must be provided to state control (supervision) bodies at their request.
9. The applicant shall take all necessary measures to ensure that the production process for serially manufactured furniture products is stable and ensures their conformity with the requirements of this Technical Regulation.
10. State control (supervision) over compliance with the requirements of this Technical Regulation of the Customs Union is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the national legislation of the Member States of the Customs Union.
Article 7. MARKING WITH THE SINGLE MARK OF PRODUCT CIRCULATION
OF PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET OF THE MEMBER STATES
OF THE CUSTOMS UNION
1. Furniture products that comply with the safety requirements and have undergone the conformity confirmation procedure in accordance with Article 6 of this Technical Regulation must bear the single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union.
2. The single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union is applied before the furniture products are placed on the market.
3. The single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union is applied to the marking tag (label) located on the fixed part of each furniture item. The single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union must not be applied to the surface of pull-out drawers, removable shelves or other parts, including components, that may be replaced.
The single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union is also applied to the accompanying documents and waybills supplied with the furniture products.
The single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union is applied by any method that ensures a clear image throughout the entire service life of the furniture.
4. For furniture items of knock-down or modular construction supplied in disassembled form, the single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union may be applied only to their packaging and the accompanying documents supplied with them.
Article 8. SAFEGUARD CLAUSE
1. The Member States of the Customs Union shall take all measures to restrict and prohibit the placing on the market of furniture products in the single customs territory of the Customs Union, as well as to withdraw from the market furniture products that do not comply with the safety requirements of this Technical Regulation or that are supplied or in circulation without a conformity assessment (confirmation) document and/or without the single mark of product circulation on the market of the Member States of the Customs Union.
The authorized body of a Member State of the Customs Union shall notify the competent authorities of the other Member States of the Customs Union of the decision taken, stating the reasons for that decision and providing evidence explaining the need to take this measure.
2. Failure to comply with the requirements of this Technical Regulation may constitute grounds for applying the safeguard provision.

Note *)
Requirements for the design of bunk beds:
1. In bunk beds, all beds used as upper beds and located at a height of 800 mm or more above the floor must be fitted with guards on all four sides. The guards must be secured so that they can be removed only with a tool. The guard may be absent at the foot end of the bed if a stationary ladder is provided instead, with rungs extending across the entire width of the opening and capable of serving an additional function as storage compartments (drawers).
2. The distance between the upper edge of the guard and the upper surface of the bed base must be at least 260 mm; between the upper edge of the guard and the upper surface of the mattress, at least 160 mm.
3. The clearance between the mattress and the lower surface of the guard, or between individual horizontal or vertical elements of the guard, must be from 60 to 100 mm.
4. The maximum level of the upper surface of the mattress must be marked with an indelible marker on one or more elements of the guard of the upper tier of the bed. The assembly instructions must provide recommendations on the overall dimensions of the mattress with which the bed will be equipped.
5. Bunk beds must be fitted with an attached ladder. The ladder may be an integral part of the bed structure.
One of the longer sides of the guard may be completely separated by the attached ladder. The width of the opening in the guard for the attached ladder must be from 300 to 400 mm.
The distance between the upper surfaces of two consecutive ladder rungs must be (250±50) mm. The distance between the rungs must be equal, with a maximum deviation of ± 2 mm. The distance between two consecutively positioned rungs must be at least 200 mm; the usable length of the rung must be at least 300 mm.
6. The clearances between the bed base, bed rails, backrests and guard elements must not exceed 25 mm.
7. The bed base must allow air to pass through.
Requirements for the softness of furniture for sitting and lying, depending
on the intended use.

Domestic furniture | Furniture for public premises
For rest in a sitting position | Lounge chair, sofa | 0-IV | 0-IV |

Bed: with a flexible or resilient base and mattress | 0, I | 0, I
Bed: with a rigid base and mattress | I | I
Sofa bed in the “bed” position: with a flexible base made of bent-glued slats arranged over the entire sleeping surface, with padding (mattress) | 0-II | 0-II
Sofa bed in the “bed” position: with a rigid base and upholstered elements made on the basis of spring units | I, II | I, II
Sofa bed in the “bed” position: with various transformation schemes, various padding materials and types of bases | I-III | I-III
For short-term rest in a lying position | Couch, divan | 0-III | I-IV |
Chair bed | I-III | I-III | |
For work in a sitting position and short-term rest | Chair, work chair, stool | II-IV | II-IV |
*) Softness is determined taking into account the base of the seat, backrest and sleeping surface.
The softness category of products intended for work and rest in a sitting position is determined by the seat indicator.
Softness indicators depending on the category.
table 5
Softness category of furniture elements | Deformation of the upholstered element under a load of 70 daN, mm | Compliance, mm/daN |
0 | At least 120 | From 2,4 to 4,2 |
i | From 95 to 115 | From 1,7 to 2,3 |
ii | From 70 to 90 | From 1,3 to 1,6 |
iii | From 50 to 65 | From 0,5 to 1,2 |
iv | From 15 to 45 | From 0,2 to 0,4 |
Note: if the deformation and compliance indicators obtained during testing correspond to adjacent categories, or if the indicators fall between categories, the softness of the elements should be assigned to the category corresponding to the lower indicator.
The softness indicators (deformation and compliance) of the sleeping surface of a bed with a flexible or resilient base must fall within one category.
Softness categories are not established for upholstered elements of children's furniture.
