The EAC certificate is registered by a service provider accredited in the EAEU states in the unified online register. Thus, the EAC certification marks products that meet the safety requirements of the TR CU regulations. 

Products whose EAC conformity with the safety requirements of technical regulations has been confirmed through EAC certification can be sold in the customs territory of all member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. An EAC certificate can be registered for a period of 1 to 5 years and is renewed annually through an inspection control.

For Which Products is an EAC Declaration Required?

An EAC declaration for EAEU states is proof that the declared products meet the safety requirements of technical regulations (TR CU/EAEU) of the Eurasian Economic Union. The declared products can be exported to Russia and the states of the Eurasian Economic Union without further requirements. 

The EAC declaration is registered by a certification service provider based in EAEU member states in the unified register of the Eurasian Economic Union. 

Registration in the unified register is a mandatory measure for export to Russia and the states of the Eurasian Economic Union. The EAC declaration can be registered for a period of 1 to 5 years. No inspection controls are required for the declaration. 

When is EAC EX/ATEX Certification Required?

The EAC Ex certification of explosion-hazardous equipment is carried out according to the safety requirements of the technical regulation TR CU 012/2011. Explosion-hazardous installations include electrical and non-electrical equipment used in explosive environments. 

The goal of the technical regulation 012/2011 is to prevent explosions in private and public areas and to eliminate their risks. The use of ATEX equipment poses a high danger to people and their property.

The technical regulation TR CU 012/2011 outlines the safety requirements for the manufacture, use, composition, storage, and transport of explosion-hazardous installations.

The EAC certificate for ATEX devices can be registered for a period of 1 to 5 years and is renewed annually through an inspection control.

When is an Certificate for Pressure Equipment Required?

The EAC certification for pressure equipment is conducted according to the technical regulation TR CU 032/2013. Pressure equipment refers to machines that operate under excessive pressure. The goal of the technical regulation 032/2013 is to protect citizens in the EAEU states.

For the EAC certification of pressure equipment under TR CU 032/2013, either certification or declaration is required. Pressure equipment of categories 3 and 4 is subject to certification under TR CU 032/2013. Pressure equipment of categories 1 and 2 is subject to declaration under TR CU 032/2013. 

The categories of pressure equipment are detailed in Annex Number 1 of the technical regulation TR CU 032/2013. The regulation TR CU 032/2013 is used for the certification of several product groups, such as pressure vessels or steam boilers. 

From a pressure of 0.5 Bar, all machines are treated according to the provisions of TR CU 032/2013. An EAC certificate for pressure equipment can be issued for a maximum period of 5 years. Annual inspection controls are conducted during the EAC certification.

When is an Certificate for Measuring Devices Required?

The metrological EAC certification is a mandatory method for quality assurance of measuring devices and instruments. The Federal Office for Technical Regulation and Metrology is responsible for the quality assurance of certified measuring devices. 

Through the certification of measuring devices, the safety requirements are confirmed. With a metrological EAC certificate for measuring devices and instruments, the products can be exported to Russia and the EAEU member states. 

The metrological EAC certification (type approval or Metrological PAC/Pattern Approval Certificate) is a conformity confirmation for calibration-required measuring devices according to the technical regulations in the Russian Federation.

An EAC certificate for measuring devices and measurement technology can be issued for single deliveries and for series production. The metrological EAC certification can be conducted for a maximum period of 5 years.

When is Fire Safety Certification Required?

A range of various product groups, such as installations, machines, cables, building materials, or floor coverings, are subject to EAC fire safety certification. An EAC fire safety certificate is a state confirmation that the certified products comply with the EAC fire safety standards. 

The safety of goods regarding fire resistance and emission of toxic gases must be guaranteed. The safety requirements for fire protection and firefighting equipment for fire safety certification are established in the technical regulation TR EAEU 043/2017. 

With an EAC fire safety certificate for Russia, the manufacturer is enabled to export the certified products to Russia and the EAEU member states.

An EAC fire safety certification can be registered for a period of 1 to 5 years and is renewed annually through an inspection control.

When is State Registration Required?

A State Registration (SGR) is a confirmation that the registered products meet the hygienic safety requirements of the technical regulations of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. 

The legal requirements for conducting State Registration were established in 2010 and are considered a successor to the hygienic EAC certificate.

The State Registration can be applied for by the importer and/or the manufacturer. The State Registration is equally valid in all member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. State Registration can be conducted for various product groups.

When is GOST Certification Required?

A GOST certificate is a state conformity certificate and confirms that the goods comply with the standards of the GOST system. A GOST certificate is an official proof that the certified products meet quality and safety requirements. 

The GOST certification was adopted by Russia from the Soviet Union. Thus, the GOST certification remains a conformity proof today and is mandatory for many products. A GOST certificate can be issued for a period of 1 to 7 years. 

Following the adoption of the decision by the EAEU states on the harmonization of national safety standards on June 18, 2010, national safety standards were replaced by the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.
