EAC Approval for Machinery and Equipment

On November 29, 2023, the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) No. 137 of November 24, 2023, was officially published.

The amendments include several EAEU decisions and regulations regarding EAC certification requirements. The Technical Regulation TR CU 010/2011 - the EAC certification of machinery and equipment is being renewed.

Changes for EAC Certification of Equipment

The first change concerns the definition used in the Technical Regulation TR CU 010/2011 regarding the safety of machinery and equipment, with the addition of a new term "Dual-Fuel Engine."

This includes engines designed for simultaneous operation with diesel and gaseous fuel. Additionally, further safety requirements for certain machines, equipment, and devices are specified.

Current Changes:

  • Machines with systems for supplying engines with gaseous fuel
  • Machines with systems for supplying engines with compressed natural gas
  • Machines with systems for supplying engines with liquefied natural gas
  • Machines with systems for supplying engines with combustible natural gas
  • Requirements for the design of the machine

Technical Passport for Machinery and Equipment

For example, a Technical Passport must be created for each gas cylinder or similar product; this Technical Passport is a part of the technical documentation of the product and ensures the identification of the product.

The amendments include clarifications regarding the EAC conformity assessment of components manufactured and supplied by machinery manufacturers for their own production.

EAC Marking of Machinery and Equipment

Every gas cylinder installed in the machine must be clearly marked with an indelible EAC marking; the serial number and the designation LPG, SNG, or LNG must be clearly affixed to the product.

The transition to the updated requirements will take one year. The new version of TR CU 010/2011 will come into effect 360 calendar days from the date of official publication.
