On February 29, 2024, the decision of the Collegium of the EAEU States No. 9 of January 29, 2024, will come into effect, approving the updated lists of EAC standards and GOST standards for packaging regulations according to TR CU 005/2011, Safety of Packaging.
The previously adopted EAC standards and GOST standards (Decision of the Collegium of the EAEU No. 12 of January 20, 2020) are now invalid. The first updated list of EAC standards for safety requirements for packaging includes 239 GOST standards, while the second list for testing methods includes 336 GOST standards.
Some of the EAC standards have a limited validity period. For example, GOST 17527-2014 (ISO 21067:2007) will no longer be applied for the EAC declaration of packaging starting August 16, 2024, and the current EAC standard for definitions of packaging, GOST 17527-2020, has been included in the list effective immediately.
This also applies to the EAC standards for testing methods of child-resistant packaging - packaging designed to be repeatedly opened and closed, GOST ISO 8317-2014 is replaced by GOST ISO 8317-2019.
The requirements of TR CU 005/2011 - Safety of Packaging, apply to all packaging before it is placed on the market. The packaging is subject to mandatory EAC conformity assessment.
