Interstate EAC Standards

New interstate EAC standards (TR CU/EAEU) for the safety of natural gas are being introduced by the Council of EAEU member states (Eurasian Economic Union).

In the area of EAC certification and EAC approval, a new interstate amendment has taken place. The Council of EAEU member states has conducted a series of examinations regarding the technical regulations for the safety of natural gas, its transportation, and usage.

As a result of the conducted examinations, a development and improvement plan for the EAC standard of natural gas safety has been approved and adopted.

The regulations of the technical regulations ensure the minimum safety requirements of products during EAC certification or EAC declaration.

The Technical Regulation TR EAEU 046/2018

The technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 - on the safety of natural gas, its transportation, and usage was introduced in early 2022. The technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 includes regulations for the industrial and private use of natural gas.

According to the provisions of the technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018, the EAC declaration is mandated as an EAC conformity confirmation procedure for the transportation and use of natural gas products.

Development of EAC and GOST Standards

The new development program includes the drafting of a series of new GOST and EAC standards for application in the EAC conformity confirmation within the framework of the technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 - on the safety of natural gas, its transportation, and usage.

The development of the corresponding GOST and EAC standards will be carried out by Russian and Kazakh authorities. The new GOST standards and EAC standards will be developed for consistency and orderliness in the technical EAC documentation of the EAEU member countries of the economic union.

Furthermore, the new EAC standards and GOST standards will maintain and update the system of technical terms and measurement methods.

EAC Marking According to TR EAEU 046/2018

The EAC marking according to TR EAEU 046/2018 is carried out in accordance with the safety regulations of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU states).

The facilities and equipment that are approved according to the requirements of the technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 will be marked with an EAC marking of the EAEU states. The EAC marking confirms the EAC conformity of products with the requirements of the technical regulations of the EAEU member states.

Duration and Costs of EAC Approval

The duration and the costs of EAC approval according to the requirements of the technical regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 depend on several details: characteristics of the goods, number of required examinations, as well as the complexity of the examinations.

The EAC approval processes are planned and conducted individually and product-related. The EAC approval can take several weeks.

Authorized Representative

An authorized representation in the EAEU states is required for the EAC approval processes. The manufacturer's representative registers the EAC approval in the name of the manufacturer. The authorized representative represents the legal interests of the manufacturer in the EAEU member states and provides the manufacturer with high flexibility and independence.

Our Russian branch can act as an applicant and authorized representative for European manufacturers. This allows the manufacturer to have representation in the EAEU states and to conduct its sales activities in the EAEU states.

Legal Situation of EAC Approval

The basis of the EAC approval processes is defined by Decision N319 of the EAEC on technical regulations in the EAEU states and Decision N620 of the EAEC on the uniform EAC standardization in the EAEU member states.
