ERA-GLONASS is the Russian and Eurasian emergency call system that has been required by law for all newly registered vehicles in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU market) since January 2015. Certification is mandatory for vehicle exports to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

What is ERA-GLONASS?

ERA-GLONASS (Emergency Road Assistance via GLONASS) is an automatic emergency call system, comparable to the European eCall, but based on the Russian GLONASS satellite network. In the event of an accident, the system automatically alerts the local emergency services and transmits:

1. Vehicle and location data (GPS/GLONASS)
2. Communication data via mobile phone networks
3. Time stamp & vehicle information

The aim is to shorten rescue times and increase road safety.

ERA-GLONASS / Mandatory for Vehicle Export

ERA-GLONASS certification is mandatory for all vehicles that are placed on the market in the EAEU for the first time, whether new or used, cars, trucks, buses or special vehicles. No vehicle registration is possible without a valid ERA-GLONASS certificate.

Certification Process / We accompanies you from the first audit to the final approval:

1. Component analysis and pre-tests (e.g. SIM module, GLONASS receiver, emergency call systems)
2. Preparation of GOST-compliant test reports by Eurasian accredited laboratories
3. Vehicle integration test (in cooperation with Eurasian network operators)
4. Issuance of certificates by authorized EAEU approval bodies
5. Optional, installation or retrofitting of the ERA module

Note: All tests must be carried out on site in the EAEU countries, AC Inorms GmbH (LLC) plans, organizes and manages the entire certification process.
