EAC Certification of Agricultural Machinery

The EAC Certificate for agricultural machinery is a confirmation of product conformity. Agricultural machines, such as tractors and trailers used for agricultural purposes, are subject to EAC conformity assessment.

Agricultural machinery must be certified or declared in accordance with the technical regulations of the EAEU member states before being imported into these countries.

The following conformity confirmations are provided for agricultural machinery:

  • EAC Certification
  • EAC Declaration

The conformity confirmation for agricultural machinery and equipment is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the technical regulations of the EAEU states.

The following guidelines are relevant for certification or declaration:

  • TR CU 010/2011 - Safety of Machinery and Equipment
  • TR CU 032/2013 - Safety of Pressure Equipment and Pressure Vessels
  • TR CU 031/2012 - Safety of Agricultural and Forestry Vehicles and Trailers

Annex NR 3 to the technical regulation TR CU 010/2011 lists all agricultural and forestry machines and equipment that are subject to certification or EAC declaration in accordance with the provisions of the technical regulation TR CU 010/2011.

The EAC certification of agricultural and forestry tractors and trailers is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the technical regulation TR CU 031/2012.

The regulations of TR CU 031/2012 only provide for the certification of agricultural and forestry machinery. The certification of pressure equipment is carried out in accordance with the provisions of TR CU 032/2013; any machine operating at a pressure of 0.5 Bar is considered a pressure device.

In the approval of agricultural and forestry machinery, various characteristics are examined, such as technical and mechanical safety, fire hazards, or noise hazards…

Certification acc. to TR CU 010/2011 - Machinery Directive

The EAC certification of agricultural and forestry machinery and equipment, such as machines and equipment for gardening, animal husbandry, or animal feed, requires mandatory certification and must occur before importation into the EAEU states.

According to TR CU 010/2011, there are two types of approval for agricultural and forestry goods: EAC certification and EAC declaration. The choice of approval procedure is always product-specific and is prescribed by the regulation TR CU 010/2011.

In the certification of agricultural machinery, a mandatory inspection control is provided. This checks whether the machine continues to comply with the provisions of TR CU 010/2011. Mandatory inspection controls must be conducted annually.

Declaration acc. to TR CU 010/2011 - Machinery Directive

EAC declaration according to the provisions of the technical regulation TR CU 010/2011 is required for the confirmation of EAC conformity of tractors (Part 9, TR CU 010/2011).

Certification acc. to TR CU 031/2011 - Agricultural Machinery

The EAC certification of agricultural and forestry tractors, their trailers, and their components is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the technical regulation TR CU 031/2012 - Safety of Agricultural and Forestry Tractors and Trailers.

In the certification of agricultural and forestry tractors and trailers, a mandatory inspection control is provided. This checks whether the tractors or trailers continue to comply with the provisions of the technical regulation TR CU 031/2011.

Documents for Certification of Agricultural Machinery

Mandatory accompanying documents are required for agricultural machinery:

  • Technical Passport
  • User Manual
  • Safety Assessment
  • Assembly Instructions
  • Pressure Vessel Passport
  • Strength Calculation
  • Technical Data Sheets

EAC Marking of Agricultural Machinery

The certified agricultural and forestry machines, equipment, and installations are marked with the EAC marking of the Eurasian Economic Union. The EAC mark confirms conformity with the Eurasian Economic Union.

Requirements for EAC Marking:

  • Monochrome coloring
  • Minimum dimensions of 5 mm
  • Clear color contrast to the surface
  • Good readability throughout the entire lifespan

Validity and Costs of EAC Certificates

The certification of agricultural and forestry machinery is highly product-specific and usually takes about 10 to 20 working days. The EAC declaration of agricultural machinery is significantly faster and typically only takes 5 to 7 working days.

The EAC certificates and EAC declarations for agricultural or forestry machinery, equipment, and installations can be issued for 1 to 5 years.

The costs of EAC certification for agricultural and forestry machinery, equipment, and installations are very product-specific and cannot be calculated in a lump sum. The cost structure arises from the mandatory prescribed tests and audits.

What is an EAC certificate for agricultural machinery?
An EAC certificate is a confirmation of product conformity that is required to import agricultural machinery such as tractors and trailers into the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It demonstrates that the machinery complies with the technical regulations of the EAEU.
Why do I need an EAC certificate for my agricultural machinery?
The EAC certificate is necessary to ensure that your agricultural machinery complies with the safety and quality standards of the EAEU. Without this certification, your machinery cannot be legally imported into the EAEU.
How long does the certification process for agricultural machinery take?
The certification of agricultural and forestry machinery typically takes about 10 to 20 working days. The declaration is faster and usually only takes 5 to 7 working days.
What documents do I need for the EAC certification of my agricultural machinery?
For certification, you will need various accompanying documents such as the technical passport, the operating manual, safety assessment, assembly instructions, pressure vessel passport, strength calculations, and technical data sheets.
How long are the EAC certificates valid?
EAC certificates and declarations for agricultural machinery can be issued for a duration of 1 to 5 years, depending on the specific requirements of the product.
What costs are associated with EAC certification?
The costs for EAC certification are highly product-specific and depend on the mandatory tests and audits that must be conducted. A flat-rate calculation is therefore not possible.
