On June 29, 2023, the official publication of Decision No. 87/2023 by the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) took place, dated June 27, 2023.
This decision includes significant changes to the list of EAC standards, EAC rules, and EAC testing procedures necessary to meet the requirements of Technical Regulations TR CU/EAEU of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU States).
These updates have direct implications for compliance with the requirements and EAC standards related to combustible natural gas in the Eurasian Economic Union. The list of standards titled "Safety Regulations for the Transportation and Use of Combustible Natural Gas" is governed by TR EAEU 046/2018.
The document will become legally effective after its official publication following a period of 6 months. These groundbreaking changes relate to the update of a list that was already established by the previous decision of the EAEU Collegium No. 112 dated August 13, 2021.
These measures aim to adapt the existing foundations for the EAC certification of combustible natural gas in accordance with the regulations of Technical Regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 to modern requirements.
The upcoming release of the updated EAC Standards and GOST Standards will encompass a total of 248 standards, while the current nomenclature contains 275 standards. Throughout the current year, some GOST standards will lose their validity.
At the same time, application years 2025 and 2026 will be established for selected EAC standards in the updated list. This update aims to achieve an advanced alignment with the standards landscape, thereby optimally meeting current requirements.
The structure of the TR CU 046/2018 directory remains unchanged and continues to be grouped by EAC standards according to gas indicators.
The listed indicators include:
It is particularly noteworthy that TR EAEU TR 046/2018 successfully came into force on January 1, 2022, making the implementation of declarations of conformity prior to the market introduction of products a mandatory requirement. This ensures compliance with EAC regulations.
