On June 29, 2023, the Decision No. 87 of June 27, 2023, of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was officially published. Decision No. 87 updates the rules, EAC standards, and testing methods for the application of natural gas in the EAEU States.

Update of TR EAEU 046/2018

The update of Decision No. 87 of June 27, 2023, pertains to the Technical Regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 of the Eurasian Economic Union regarding the safety of combustible natural gas prepared for transport and/or use.

The document will come into effect six months after the official publication date. It is an update of the list adopted by Decision No. 112 of the Board of the EEC on September 13, 2021.

New Version of TR EAEU 046/2018

Currently, the nomenclature contains 275 standards, but some GOST standards will lose their validity in the current year. Some of the standards included in the updated list also have a validity period limited to 2025 and 2026.

  • Mass concentration of hydrogen sulfide
  • Mass concentration of mercaptan sulfur
  • Mole fractions of non-combustible components
  • Mole fractions of oxygen

Please note that the regulation TR EAEU 046/2018 on the safety of natural gas came into effect on January 1, 2022, and conformity must be declared prior to placing it on the market.
